Meet the team members behind Élan. Each member of our team brings their own perspective, their own expertise, and in many cases, their own personal experience with hair loss.
Meet Nicole
studio owner
I started to notice my hair thinning around my 18th birthday. I quickly began the deep dive into research online to try to understand the cause and find help to regrow my hair. After several years of research, I decided the issue must have been caused by a combination of stress and a medication I was taking. After stopping the medication in an attempt to stop and reverse the hair loss, the opposite happened and I began losing hair dramatically. My once beautiful long, curly brown hair was disappearing — quickly. I continued to cut my hair shorter and shorter in an attempt to disguise the hair loss. I tried all of the available topical, over the counter solutions and visited several physicians. Nothing helped. I was eventually diagnosed with a form of Alopecia and it was progressing rapidly.
When I turned 25, I hit an especially difficult point in my hair loss journey. In a period of life that should have been full of self-discovery and adventure, I felt trapped by my hair loss and wasn’t sure I would ever feel like myself again. This is when my mother stepped in. She did her own research and found Hair Designers of Houston, a hair replacement studio in Houston. She scheduled my consultation and she and my aunt sat next to me while I learned about the world of hair restoration. The team at Hair Designers walked me through my options and I was measured for and provided with a custom made bonded hair system. This was the beginning of a new chapter for me. I spent years looking for a solution that would allow me to move on with my life, and I had finally found it.
I was later introduced to the CNC Hair System by CRLAB. The CNC was absolutely life changing for me. I became one of the first women in the US to wear the CNC. Over the next several years I traveled with CRLAB as a spokesperson for the CNC with the mission of educating women with hair loss across the country about this incredible solution. It was during this experience that I first started to think that there might be a place for me in this industry. This changed the entire trajectory of my life. Not only did the CNC give me my life back, it also set me on a path to something bigger than I could ever have imagined.
In 2017 I took over the studio where I started as a client and Elan Hair Studio was established. Every day, I am thankful that something that started out as a really tough situation in my life has turned into a calling I never knew I would have.
I am not only the owner of Élan Hair Studio, I am also a client. As a studio owner who started as a client, I understand the emotional impact that hair loss can have on a person. I understand the toll that hair loss can take on your personal and professional life. I have done the research and I have tried the solutions. I can say with confidence that the solutions we provide in our studio will restore your hair and your life, allowing you to put this chapter behind you and focus on the future. Meet Dorin

My journey with Trichotillomania, the hair-pulling disorder, began over 25 years ago when I first started pulling out my eyelashes and eyebrows at age 4. A few years later, my hands moved to my left hairline. With that, the number of hairs I pulled increased exponentially.
In my teens, if you even mentioned the word “hair” around me, I’d flinch and change the conversation. Wanting nothing more than to stop pulling, I tried everything from doctors and meds to fidget toys and hair-pulling journals. Nothing worked — my bald spots only got bigger and bigger, as did the headbands and toppers I wore every day to cover up those growing spots.
Slowly, I decided I no longer wanted to live my life feeling defined by my deepest, darkest secret — my trichotillomania. Even more, I didn’t want others to feel defined by their own experience with hair loss.
In 2016, I left my first job out of college and started my career in the beauty industry to support those with trichotillomania and spread awareness about it and other hair disorders. I joined Élan Hair Studio in 2018. Behind the chair, I strive to provide each of my clients — men, women, and children — with a safe space to begin taking control of their hair loss journey.
Meet Abi

I became a hair stylist to help people feel confident and beautiful. I worked in a traditional salon doing cut and color for several years and I absolutely loved seeing the difference in my clients from when they first sat in my chair to when they left at the end of our appointment. I found that, sometimes, all you need is a little TLC to bring back your inner peace and happiness and I was able to offer that to my clients.
Specializing in hair replacement at Elan Hair Studio has given my career as a stylist a whole new meaning. When I first stepped into Elan I fell in love with the environment and the privacy we provide for our clients. You can really feel how our team provides comfort, support, and understanding to each client and their unique situation with hair loss. I absolutely love tapping into my creativity to problem solve and offer solutions for each new client we encounter.
Many women come to our studio who don’t feel comfortable getting their hair done in a traditional salon setting and I am so grateful to be able to provide those services in our studio. I want my clients to know that I offer a safe judgement free space in my chair and my goal is to always provide a service that makes you feel beautiful and confident when you step out of our studio.
Meet Raymond

I’m the Salon Manager at Elan Hair Studio and a licensed hairstylist with over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. I’ve been managing salons and spas since 2008, and I truly enjoy being able to support both our clients and our team every day.
My love for hair started early in life. I grew up in a house full of women who were always running late, so I naturally jumped in to help fix their hair. What started as lending a hand quickly turned into a lifelong love for hairstyling and led me to pursue a career in the beauty industry.
At Elan Hair Studio, I’m often the first face you see when you walk through our doors and the last before you leave. I take pride in being there for our clients every step of the way — from the first phone call, to your appointment, and even checking in after you receive your new hair. My goal is simple: I want every client to feel supported, comfortable, and truly taken care of throughout the entire process.
Working in Elan’s specialized niche is incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing quite like seeing the joy return to a client’s face when they realize they can love their hair again — especially when they never thought it was possible. Those moments are what make this work so meaningful to me.
I love working alongside a team of passionate women who genuinely care about helping other women feel beautiful. Their compassion and dedication inspire me daily, and together we strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment for every client who walks through our doors.
When I’m not at the studio, you’ll likely find me cheering on my beloved Texas Longhorns during college football season. Saturdays are for football, and I’m a proud Longhorn fan — Hook ‘em Horns!
The Salon
a space designed for you
The studio we have created is truly our happy place and is a physical extension of our mission to provide solutions and support to women experiencing thinning hair and hair loss. Every part of the studio, down to the smallest detail, has been designed with our clients in mind.
The studio has a beautiful consultation room with a sitting area large enough for your support system to join you at your consultation. It is important for us that you are able to touch, feel, and try on samples of the solutions you are exploring and our consultation room is set up for just that with a large collection of samples of all of the wigs, toppers, and CNC Hair Systems that we offer.
Our studio has 5 fully private styling rooms. Each stylist works independently in their own room offering each client full privacy. From a simple hair cut to a full transformation — this is where the magic happens!
Despite experiencing thinning hair and hair loss, you deserve a beautiful and comfortable hair salon to call your own. Our studio was created to support you at each stage of your hair loss journey and we hope you love it as much as we do.
